Keep the Number of a Tow Truck in Your Car

I drive an older car that I always knew would break down some day in a bad place and need towed. I figured I could always easily look up the number of a towing company using my phone's internet service if I ever needed to. Recently, my car started making an alarming sound that led to me pulling off the road while driving down the highway. It then wouldn't start back up. I grabbed my cell phone and went to do a web search to find a local towing company, and I realized I had used up all of my data plan for the month! It was late at night, so I had to call and awaken friends until someone answered who could help. I created this blog to help others avoid the same embarrassment as me. Always keep the number of a tow truck company in your car.

Reasons For Having A Car Towed

Terri Carroll

Although no one likes to be the cause of someone needing to deal with something like retrieving their car once it has been towed, there are many times when having a car towed is something that must be done. Here are some of the times when you may find yourself needing to have a car removed from its current location.

A car is in a hazardous location

If a car is parked where it can increase the chances of there being an accident, then the car needs to be moved. If the owners of the car cannot be located immediately, then a tow truck can come out tow the car. Some ways a car can create a hazardous situation is by being out in the road, by being in an area that prevents someone from seeing down the road, and by being in a location that hinders a car's ability to make full use of the road.

A car is blocking a parking space

If a car is blocking a parking space, then it may have another car blocked in, so the driver won't be able to leave as long as that car is parked where it is. Or, a car can be parked where it is blocking someone from making use of a parking space, which can be especially troublesome if the parking space is assigned to someone and they won't be able to park where they should. In either case, the car may need to be towed if the owner can't be found, so access can be gained to and from that parking space again.

A car is on residential property

If you go outside and notice that someone is parked in your driveway or on your property at all, then you can have their car towed off your property. There are many reasons why you may not want to allow the car to stay on your property while you look for the owner. The car may be blocking your access in and out of your driveway, the car may be taking up space you need for other people who need to park on your property, the car may look questionable as far as whether it is stolen or problematic in other ways, or you may just not want it there, period.

Conclusion

If you are dealing with a troublesome car that is parked where it shouldn't be, then you can call up and the tow truck company will come to take care of the issue for you by towing it off. It will be up to the owners of the car to deal with everything after that and you will be out of it. Contact your local towing service today to learn more.
